This summer is FLYING by and been so busy. No excuse.
Back when Cricket came to visit, so did my mom, grandma and excellent friend Jess. My mom, Jess and I ran a 15k. It was hot. There was hills-big hills. But, it was amazing! And I'm so glad Jess twisted my arm and that my mom came to town to run it with us. Secretly, I felt accomplished-I can't imagine how people must feel after running a marathon--I felt like I had conquered the world after 9 miles.
Here we are-sweaty and lookin' good. Right?
I should also mention Jess and I did the Warrior Dash the very next day...a little over 4 miles coupled with crazy obstacles. Yes, I, Jennifer Morris, crawled through mud-and lots of it. I literally don't think I have ever felt so sore in my entire life. In fact, I was so sore and tired on the way home from Joliet-I GOT LOST-Imagine that...and it took me about 3.5 hours to get back to Peoria. Grr.
Following that weekend came a bachelorette bash in Iowa City-in which I did not get lost going to--and a quick trip to Vegas. Vegas went from relaxing to monumental when Keith Urban put his mircophone next to my chair and I happened to find his guitar chip laying on the ground. Yes, I jumped up and down and squealed.
No, this photo is not mega zoomed, in fact I tried to zoom out. I think he's looking at me, kinda.
After returning home from Vegas I got greeted by 2 special wedding weekends and turning 27...
My good friends Rick and Diana got married July 10
21=awesome
22=boo
23=awesome
24=boo
25=awesome, I'm a quarter of a century!
26=boo
27=awesome. No reason in particular. I am "OK" with turning 27, I was not "OK" with turning 26, maybe it's a mind game.
I did have a great day--although I can't remember the last time I've been able to spend my birthday with family.
I received some pretty garden picked flowers that brightened my day and my kitchen table.
I also go some fresh organically grown herbs! I have been dishing for recipes to use them in--if you have any goodies, shoot them my way! What a great gift!
Spent the day at Kickapoo Creek Winery...and did some tastings...and had some-ok lots-of wine. It's my birthday!
There was lots of cheese and crackers had too...
I then received more gifts...which I won't bore you with, but they were good and thoughtful.
We ended the evening with-my favorite-a nice steak dinner at Jim's Steakhouse. After dinner and several bottles of wine, this old lady called it a night!
And the final most recent events of my life lately--my dear friend Brianne got married on Friday the 22nd in Riverside Iowa. So much fun when we can all get together. It doesn't happen often enough.
Sorry, this post is not about crafts, or thrifting. It is about the life I've been living that has left me no time to get creative. Only in my mind, while going insane on Pinterest...you must check out that website.
