And, although I said I was going to save the poor room's embarrassment by not posting before photos. I'm going to.
BEFORE:
One (small) shot of this beauty is plenty...
With a limited budget I decided to "upcycle"--I learned that word in the blogging world, catchy eh-- use bedding I already had--why not. Nothing wrong with it.
If you can kind of catch the drift of the duvet--its flowerly/twiggy, so I wanted to stuck with that "theme." I purchased Staples at Lowes and Twigs at Michaels (for $6.00 with 40% off coupon) and hammered them to the wall. Here's an up-close progress shot--if you decide to go with this project, I found it easiest to attach the staples to the small branches versus the large center stem.
And here's a shot after I got them all hung up
I didn't like that they appeared to be hanging out in branch land--they needed some sort of base. So I moved the bed.
Better-you think?
And then while wandering around Hobby Lobby, I got inspired, imagine that. I bought a bottle of this:
Followed by embarking on this project:
Lots of measuring and taping ensued (which I about drove myself to my grave doing. Because I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to straight, level lines)
And proceeded to write simple messages (seriously, simple)

| Hi! |
I plan on creating more squares in random places throughout the room for my guests to leave some LOVE!
And onto my next adventure--hunting down a tree trunk to use as a nightstand. I had intentions of sanding and spray painting it, but decided I loved it's natural state.
Perfect setting for a couple books, candle and the remote control--oh and did I mention FREE!?
Remember these? I used left over fabric, ironed it out and framed it--again, making use of materials I already had this project = F-R-E-E.
Here's the room El Fin--minus curtains, which I'm on the hunt for...--just in time for my family on Wednesday!
Did I mention the best part--total cost: $15.00
